Ray's Lido
Maximilian Fetz During my stay in Malta, I worked as a waiter at Rays Lido in the Little Armier Bay. Depending on the day I started working at 11 a.m. and finished work between 4 and 6 p.m.. It took me over one hour to get there by bus. My main tasks were serving food and drinks to the customers, collecting empty plates and cleaning tables. Sometimes I had to help downstairs at the beach, but that was very boring. The other stuff were very friendly and helped me with my new tasks. The majority of them originate from Eastern Europe, so they showed great interest in our internship. I gained a lot of new and valuable experiences during my time abroad. Without doubt, I learnt to adapt to a different lifestyle and take care about others. I’m very grateful, that I was a part of this exchange in Malta and I’ll benefit from it for sure. |
Insurance Argo Global SE
Jessica Brenner
During my month abroad in Malta, I worked as an intern at the insurance company Argo Global SE. The working day always started at half past eight from Monday to Friday and ended at half past one in the afternoon. The main activities involved doing online research on a wide range of companies, pick-up mail, scan new invoices and letters, and file them. It was very interesting to work here as I learned a lot of new insurance vocabulary, got to know the process in this company and became familiar with the risks in this industry. The boss and the work colleagues were very nice, and it was a lot of fun to work with them. I'm grateful to be here in Malta to improve my English and get to know a new country. I will gladly and often think back to this time.

Insurance Argo Global SE
Anna-Lena Moosbrugger
During my time in Malta, I worked for an insurance company called Argo Global SE. The insurance is located in St.Julians right on the
sea. I worked from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 13:30 pm. I had to scan various online searches, notices, manage
the post but also edit documents from different companies. My supervisor but also the other staff were extremely nice to me, took good care of me and put a lot of emphasis on that I take a lot from this internship. Above all, I got to know the handling of people better, my vocabulary in the English language improved a lot, but also my self-confidence became stronger. I am very thankful for giving me the opportunity to go to Malta for a month to improve my English.

During my time abroad, I worked as an intern in a child care centre called Kids R US. The child care centre is placed in Bugibba, which is about 20 minutes away with the bus. My workday always started at 9 am and I worked six hours a day, from Monday till Friday. The main tasks involved supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care, help children keep good hygiene, prepare meals and organize mealtimes & snacks for the children. It was fun to work there, because the atmosphere in the team was pleasant and they involved us very good. I also loved to be around the kids. It was very interesting to see the stages of their development and to learn to be more patience and how to act in a difficult situation. I am thankful for the experience and I am sure I will profit from this moth abroad in Malta.
Rays Lido
Samuel Thaler During my time in Malta, I worked at Rays Lido in the Little Armier Bay as a waiter. The way to work took over an hour by bus. But it was alright because I started working at 11 a.m. and finished between 4 and 6 p.m. When I worked in the restaurant my main tasks were serving food and drinks to the customers, collecting empty dishes and cleaning tables. But from time to time I worked as a beach boy. My main activities as a beach boy were to prepare the sunbeds, harnessing umbrellas and serving customers. The normal stuff in the restaurant and at the beach were really friendly and made my work day sometimes more enjoyable. Most of them came from Eastern Europe or Africa and showed great interest in our internship. I learned a lot of new valuable lessons during my time abroad. |
